PromoFarma is a online pharmacy were users can buy choosing the best price from different pharmacies with multiple deliveries.

Background

This website is a titan of the online pharmaceutical industry in Spain. I had the opportunity to work with them from their humble beginnings as a flash offer e-commerce business to all the way up to the marketplace they are today.

Research and discovery

The development and product team got together to figure out how should we tackle this.

Our hypothesis was that adding information in the cart about the different deliveries by different pharmacies will provide enough clarity for our users to conclude the purchase.

We where able to bring our users to the office to do in-person tests with the prototype we had in development environment.

UI first delivery

This is the first iteration of the interface, focused in a responsive web experience always thinking in mobile first.

Conclusions

We were able to bring users to the office, thanks to the marketing team preparing a goodies bag and discount coupons. This type of tests are very fruitful, the in-person test allow us to detect subtle reactions of the users during the process and we where able to dig deeper to find the flaws in our designs and fix them.

Outcomes

  • The marketplace was deployed to the spanish market to a great increase in sells
  • The development process was scaled almost 3 times since the beginning of the project with all systems operating successfully
